18 SEP 2026 · What makes someone decide to run 100 miles when there’s no race, no medal, and no official finish line waiting for them?
At just 22 years old, Nathan Kornely has already gone from college quarterback to endurance athlete, founder of Stay Weird, and someone willing to find out exactly how far he can push himself.
Nathan didn’t grow up loving running. In fact, for most of his life, running was punishment. That started to change when he earned a spot in BPN’s Survive the Night 50-miler and committed to seeing what he was capable of.
Then he went bigger.
Nathan created his own 100-mile route from San Diego to Anaheim Hills and covered it in roughly 22 hours, using the challenge to raise money and awareness for Alzheimer’s.
In this episode, we talk about where the idea for 100 miles came from, the transition from football to endurance sports, what happens mentally when you’re running through the night without the structure of an organized race, and why Nathan believes consistency matters more than waiting around for motivation.
We also get into the meaning behind Stay Weird, growing up as the overweight kid and now becoming an example for others, balancing ambitious goals with friendships and relationships, and why choosing something difficult can completely change the way you see yourself.

28 AUG 2026 · Ger Dixon’s story isn’t really about running 421 miles. It’s about choosing to stay.
After reaching a point in his life where he attempted to take his own life, Ger made a decision to change. Since then, he’s become an outspoken mental health advocate, using endurance and his own story to start conversations that too many people are still afraid to have.
Ger went on to run more than 400 miles from Los Angeles to San Francisco to raise awareness for mental health. Now, he’s preparing for his next challenge: cycling roughly 500 miles from San Francisco back to Los Angeles.
In this episode, we talk about the darkness that brought Ger to his lowest point, what helped him find his way forward, the role endurance has played in his life, what running hundreds of miles taught him, and why he continues to tell his story. Because sometimes the biggest accomplishment isn’t how far you can go. It’s deciding to keep going.

This one is a little different.
Places to Run started as an idea for a video series: travel somewhere worth running, learn the history, meet the people who make it special, find the food you have to try, and tell the story of that place through running.
I can’t make the full video version yet, so I decided not to wait.
This is the audio documentary version.
For Episode 1, we head to Seligman, Arizona, the starting point of the Route 66 UltraRun and one of the most important towns in the history of Historic Route 66.
We talk about the race, what it takes to cover 140 miles of Route 66, the people and history behind Seligman, what runners should expect out there, and some of the places you absolutely need to eat along the way.
You’ll also hear from people who know this road and this race firsthand.
My hope is that this becomes a recurring series — a reason to go find cool places to run, interesting people to meet, and good food to eat afterward.
For now, this is where it starts.

Sometimes you don’t need another training plan, race strategy, or piece of running advice. Sometimes you just need a pep talk.
After spending the last few weeks in a funk, Nick went out for a run and finally felt a little bit of that fire come back.
Not everything is fixed. The funk isn’t completely gone. But it doesn’t feel quite as powerful anymore.
This short, raw solo episode is about what happens when waiting to feel better isn’t enough—and the moment you realize that sometimes you have to participate in your own comeback. It’s about knowing the difference between recovering and retreating. Giving yourself grace without abandoning yourself.
Understanding that fighting doesn’t always mean doing something extraordinary. Sometimes fighting means getting out of bed. Sometimes it means answering the text. Sometimes it means putting your shoes on. Sometimes it means asking for help. And sometimes it simply means making sure you’re still here to fight another day.
Nick also takes a moment to thank everyone who reached out, sent messages, and made sure he was okay during the past few weeks. This one isn’t polished. It’s not supposed to be. It’s The Pep Talk.
