On April 14, 2013, in the early morning hours, the couple lay sleeping in their own bed when an intruder slipped silently into their home. He stood over them in the darkness, watching them breathe, before unleashing a savage, relentless attack that left the bedroom soaked in blood. What followed was one of the most brutal and disturbing double murders the community had ever seen.

22 APR 2026 · In the middle of the night on August 8, 2013, firefighters raced to a raging blaze at a quiet home in Modesto, California. What they found inside the master bedroom was pure horror: Scott and Janet Pettit — a loving, well-respected couple — had been executed in their own bed, shot seven times as they slept. The fire wasn’t an accident… it was a deliberate, cold-blooded attempt to destroy every trace of the crime.
What began as an arson call quickly spiraled into one of the most shocking family betrayal cases in recent true-crime history. Investigators uncovered a twisted plot allegedly fueled by greed, inheritance, life insurance payouts, and one prized 1961 Corvette. At the center of it all? A son and the friend he supposedly hired to carry out the unthinkable.

15 APR 2026 · In the quiet town of Ozark, Alabama, 22-year-old Tracey Harris was a hardworking young mother trying to rebuild her life after a difficult divorce. On March 7, 1990, she was dropped off at home after work… and vanished without a trace. One week later, her body was pulled from the murky Choctawhatchee River—naked from the waist up, with clear signs she had been strangled before being drowned. It was ruled a homicide, and the prime suspect was staring everyone in the face: her ex-husband, Carl Harris.
For nearly thirty years the case went cold, with Carl under a cloud of suspicion. Then, in 2016, police finally arrested him.
